SSUA Creative Industries Sharing Meeting Held
Organized by Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU) on December 12, 2024, the Creative Industries Sharing Meeting was held in cooperation with ASBU-SİM and ASBU Sosyokent Technology Development Zone, with the participation of academics, sector representatives, entrepreneurs and experts. The event provided an important platform to address the current status of creative industries in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and strategies for the future of this field.
The program began with opening speeches. ASBU Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım Arıcan drew attention to the critical role of creative industries in Turkey's economic and cultural development, emphasizing the importance of supporting initiatives in this field. Then, ASBU-SİM Director and ASBU Sosyokent TGB General Manager Prof. Dr. Erdal Akdeve shared the contributions of the university to the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem with the participants. TOBB Turkey Creative Industries Assembly Deputy Chairman Berat Kuzu made evaluations on the fundamental challenges faced by entrepreneurship in the sector and the ways to overcome these challenges. ATO Assembly Chairman Mustafa Deryal addressed the positive effects of intersectoral collaborations on entrepreneurship with examples.
In-Depth Discussions with Round Table Workshop
In the round table workshop held after the opening speeches, in-depth discussions were held around the main theme of “How do startups succeed in creative industries?” In the workshop, topics such as the fundamental elements of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, sectoral strategies, human resources policies and commercialization processes were discussed in detail. Participants shared their knowledge and experiences and offered solution suggestions for the development of creative industries.
Importance of Intersectoral Collaboration Emphasized
At the end of the program, the importance of the continuity of such organizations that support the development of creative industries was emphasized once again. Participants stated that more stakeholders should come together to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem and increase sectoral collaborations.
ASBU Creative Industries Sharing Meeting was appreciated as an event that showcased the potential of creative industries in Turkey and encouraged cooperation between sectors. This event was considered an important reference point for future studies.
